The top 10 beaches of Sithonia, most probably, are the top ten beaches of Halkidiki, featuring amazing turqoise waters with wild green nature all over.

Kavourotripes & Orange beach – Sarti, Sithonia

Turquoise waters, white rock hills permeated with greenery and soft sand are main features of this hidden paradise near Sarti. The beach can be accessed only on foot, but its huge advantage compared to other nearby beaches is that it’s much less crowded. Comprising a couple of small coves, Kavourotripes beach should also be explored by a boat.

Sarti beach is Sithonia’s pragmatic beach, everything you need is here. The ‘Blue Flag’ Sarti beach seems to have no end, the wide stretch of yellow/white sand goes on for kilometers. The direct view to Mt. Athos is a real distinguishing feature of Sarti beach, you can’t find a better or closer view of Mt. Athos than from here.

 

Armenistis beach- Sarti, Sithonia

Armenistis is an extremely large and exotic, Blue Flag awarded beach with white sand, turquoise waters and full of lush vegetation all around. It is well-organized with many restaurants, taverns and all kind of water sports facilities available. Armenistis is also, an ideal place for campers.

Platanitsi beach — Sarti, Sithonia

Platanitsi beach has been described as one of the most popular and beautiful beaches around Sarti. Considered a ‘Blue Flag’ beach is a great swimmers beach. The beach is controlled by the campsite that requires an entrance fee in the high season.

Karydi beach — Vourvourou, Sithonia

Karidi beach has its main beach and a second beach to the south. These beaches are real magnets for tourists in the summer and one of Sithonia’s most sought after beaches. Photogenic Karidi is often in websites and magazines as a picture to lure you to Sithonia’s fantastic gems.

Kriaritsi beach is a long bay that is actually 2 beaches divided by a crag. The southern smaller section of beach is frequented by nudists who set up camp over the summer. The northern larger part is also very much a campers beach but the more clothes friendly kind. Facing the open sea, the water is amazingly pure, a delight for swimmers and is rated among Sithonia’s top 10!

 

Trani ammouda, Livrohio beach — Ormos panagias, Sithonia

Livrohio Beach is the main Ormos Panagias beach just north of the village. This beach is a long and wide strip of fine sand that has been given the status as a “Blue Flag” beach. If it is quiet that you are looking for you will have no problem finding it on Trani Ammouda. This beach probably has one of the largest sand surface areas in all of Sithonia and perhaps Halkidiki.

  

Lagomandra beach — Neos Marmaras, Sithonia

This amazing beach is located near Neos Marmaras. A small forest of pines adds a special character. It is easily accessible by car and many amenities are available.

 

Platania beach — Sarti, Sithonia

Nuzzled in a gracious verdant landscape against the backdrop of the azure waters of the sea, the beautiful sandy beach of Platania offers a slice of serenity in tranquil ambience.  Situated in the Sithonia peninsula this pristine beach exudes a tangible sense of peacefulness and calm and invites visitors for pure moments of mesmerizing relaxation. Regarded as a naturist friendly beach it has no facilities available but it is only a few minutes away from the touristy resort of Sarti.

Sightseeing in Sithonia is not just limited to the beaches. In Sithonia and Halkidiki there are several points of interest that may be a fun way to make your Sithonia vacation more educational.

The Toroni castle ruins is Sithonia’s main archeological site with a dramatic setting.

The Mount Athos cruise is not to be missed as a day trip.

In Nikiti you can see the 1600 year old ruins of the Christian basilica “Sofronios” and then wander the Nikiti old town.

Parthenonas is a historical village with its own museum and the Sykia windmills make for fun photos.
